Rock Stalker Allegedly Caused Fatal DUI Crash

The Malibu Times reports that a recent fatal accident believed to be a result of driving while under the influence was caused by a woman who had already been in hot water with the law for allegedly stalking a famous musician.

A 44-year-old Los Angeles woman was pulled over in Laguna Beach around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, and refused to show her driver’s license to responding police officers. She was reportedly acting as if she was under the influence of drugs, talking extremely quickly and acting erratically. The woman then took off, leading police in a high-speed pursuit through Laguna Beach. The chase ended in a crash at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Selva Road in the Dana Point area, according to a spokesperson from the Laguna Beach Police Department.

The crash took the life of a 23-year-old man and sent his twin brother and girlfriend to the hospital. The woman who caused the wreck was also hospitalized but was then moved to jail with charges of suspicion of murder and DUI, with a bail of two million dollars.

The suspect had previously been served with a restraining order for making multiple visits to the Malibu mansion of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, under the delusional belief that they were in a romantic relationship.
