One must remember that even celebrities are human and make human mistakes. Even those who serve as role models for the younger generations can slip up and commit major errors. Former Disney and Nickelodeon stars have been on the opposite side of the law at one time or another.
Another Disney star has found herself in a bit of trouble. TMZ reports that the star of “Jessie,” Debby Ryan, was arrested for felony drunk driving in Los Angeles. The incident occurred last week when the star was driving in her 2016 Audi.
It appears that Debby was attempting to make a left in her car and slammed into a Mercedes around 11pm. According to authorities, the other driver claimed injury as a result of the accident.
The cops came and gave the 22-year old a field sobriety test. Afterwards, she was arrested for felony DUI. Whenever there is an injury involved in a DUI accident, it is standard procedure to arrest for a felony.
Debby got a break, however. Authorities decided to bump the felony down to a misdemeanor. They did so because the injury was minor and Debby’s blood-alcohol content was .11. That number is not much over the legal limit.
Debby was released on $100k bail but is charged with two criminal offenses. She is facing charges of driving under the influence and driving with a .08 blood-alcohol content or higher.
Afterward the incident, Debby took to Twitter to send this message to her fans: “Over the last few days I have had the chance to think about my actions, and I wish I had used better judgement. I recognize that I am a role model and have always worked hard to set a good example for my millions of fans. I am so sorry to disappoint everyone.”
