Son of Hulk Hogan Arrested for DUI in Florida

The Concho Valley Homepage reports that Nick (Hogan) Bollea, son of wrestling star Hulk Hogan, was arrested in Clearwater, Florida, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday.

Clearwater authorities say that officers were conducting a traffic stop when they spotted a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was approaching the stop location. With his flashlight, an officer signaled Bollea, the truck driver, indicating they needed to slow down and move into the next lane. Bollea did not obey the officer’s signal.

Another Clearwater Police Department officer clocked the pickup truck on his radar, traveling 51 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone.

Officers pulled Bollea over for violating Florida’s Move Over law. According to the police report, when approaching the vehicle, officers said that Bollea was showing clear signs of intoxication, including swaying and unsteady movement, bloodshot, glassy eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Bollea failed field sobriety tests, and when asked to take a breathalyzer test, Bollea refused. He was taken into custody.

In 2008, Bollea was previously arrested when he was 17 on the charge of reckless driving. He pleaded no contest to the charge and received eight months in county jail and five years of probation.

Bollea’s friend, Joe Graziano, was left paralyzed in the 2008 incident and filed suit against Bollea and his father. The lawsuit ended in a $1.5 million settlement.
