Patch.com reported recently that a Petaluma man is in critical condition after a motor vehicle accident last Thursday in which he is suspected of drunk driving.
According to a spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred between 4:10 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021, on Adobe Road near Davis Lane in Sonoma County, CA. ‘The preliminary investigation indicated that a Petaluma man 67 years of age was driving a Chevy Cruze compact car westbound on Adobe at more than fifty miles per hour as he approached the intersection with Davis Lane, and rear-ended a Toyota RAV4 SUV that was stopped at the stop sign. This pushed the RAV$ into a Toyota Yaris and a Toyota Scion that were also both stopped at the stop sign.
The driver of the Cruze suffered serious injuries and was medically transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The RAV4 driver suffered minor injuries while the other two drivers were uninjured.
The Cruze driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and was placed under arrest. He remains in critical condition.
