Firefighters Rescue Three Women after Suspected DUI Rollover Crash in Redding

CBS News reports that firefighters had to extricate three women from their overturned vehicle after a crash in Redding on Monday, February 13.

Investigators say that the crash happened just before midnight at the intersection of Lake Boulevard and Magnums Way in north redding when a woman driving a Honda sedan lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a parked car.

The force of the impact caused the Honda to roll over on its side. While the driver was able to free herself from her destroyed vehicle, three other women who were passengers in the car were trapped inside.

Firefighters with the Redding Fire Department had to cut off the roof of the Honda in order to get the women out of their vehicle. One woman was reported to have suffered a broken arm. No other injuries were reported.

Officers with the Redding Police Department investigating the crash said they found several empty liquor bottles inside the vehicle. Detectives believe that the crash was caused by alcohol.
