Canyon Country Wreck Leads To DUI Arrest

The Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported recently that a motor vehicle accident in Canyon Country in the evening hours of Monday, January 4 ended in an arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). 

According to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred between 6:15 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Monday, January 4, 2021, in the 18900 block of Nearbrook Street in Canyon Country, when a silver Mercedes crashed into the garage of a residential unit.

The driver was arrested for DUI and then transported to Henry Mayo (Newhall Hospital) where he remains in an unknown condition as a result of the incident. 

The Mojave Desert News noted that several arrests for DUI were made in California City during December, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, including the arrest of a Los Angeles man 62 years of age for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and the arrest of a Los Angeles County woman 55 years of age by the California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI and BAC over .08%.
