ABC Channel 10 News reported recently that a man who was allegedly drunk when he allegedly caused a head-on motor vehicle accident on Monday, February 15, 2021 that killed a married couple and injured their newly orphaned children will face two charges of murder with special enhancements for his role in the tragic incident.
According to officials from local law enforcement authorities as well as the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, the incident took place between 11:30 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Monday, February 15, 2021 near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Locks Drive. A family was returning home from a birthday celebration when a man 27 years of age, allegedly driving under the influence, collided with their vehicle head-on. A man 37 years of age and woman 29 years of age were killed in the collision, while their two children, both under five years of age, suffered injuries that weren’t life threatening.
The suspect faces six charges for his role in the accident, including two counts of murder with special enhancements, two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter with special enhancements, and two counts of driving under the influence with special enhancements. As he had previously been convicted of DUI, he was eligible for murder charges under California guidelines.
