WWE Star Jey Uso Arrested on DUI Charges

As a common citizen, you might find that your brush with the law in the form of a DUI charge goes largely unnoticed. Unless your accident makes the local news, there is likely only a few people aware of the incident. Unfortunately for celebrities and professional athletes, their brushes with the law and DUI charges often become public knowledge rather quickly. Recently, reality television star Bam Margera found himself defending a DUI charge. Another recent celebrity came within reach of the long arm of the law, WWE superstar Jey Uso. The Daily Mail reports on the incident.

The arrest came on Saturday, January 13th. Uso, whose birth name is Joshua Samuel Fatu, was pulled over for a traffic violation. The arresting officer then became suspicious after observing signs of possible intoxication.

The officer asked Uso to perform a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested him for displaying signs of intoxication. The arrest record did not show that a breathalyzer test was given.

Uso’s twin brother, Jimmy Uso, was arrested for DUI in 2011 and arrested again in 2013 for violation of probation by driving on a suspended license.

The twins are the sons of former WWE superstar Rikishi, born Solofa Fatu Jr. They currently hold the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Titles and are due to defend those titles at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. It is unclear whether this arrest will affect that appearance.

WWE released a statement saying, “‘Joshua Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions.” They also stated, “’We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”
