Wayne Brady Involved in a Crash with DUI Motorist

The West Side Current reports that comedian Wayne Brady, host of TV’s Let’s Make a Deal, was involved in a crash with an alleged DUI motorist on Sunday. That incident led to an altercation between Brady and a 51-year-old suspected DUI driver.

In a statement, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told reporters that the incident happened on the 21200 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when a driver backed into Brady’s vehicle.

Eyewitnesses say that the two men became engaged in an intense argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Brady called 911, but upon hearing approaching sirens, the other man fled the scene of the crash on foot before law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

Sheriff’s deputies found and apprehended the man in a residential neighborhood a short distance away from the crash site. He was placed under arrest and taken into custody on charges of misdemeanor DUI, hit-and-run, and battery.

An unnamed source told reporters that Brady left the scene upset but grateful that no children, including his daughter, had been injured.

So far, officials have not released the identity of the alleged DUI motorist. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
