Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Into Wife’s Car

KTLA reports that a suspected DUI driver crashed his SUV into several cars, including his wife’s Mercedes.

Just after 1 a.m. on Monday morning, a man was arrested on suspected DUI charges. The charges stem from an incident where the man allegedly drove his SUV while intoxicated, crashing into several parked cars.

Neighbors say that the driver was a local resident and the crash left four to five vehicles damaged. After arresting the driver, police took him to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that he sustained in the crash.

The black SUV he was driving was badly damaged and had crashed head-on into a Mercedes-Benz sedan. According to the statements of neighbors, the Mercedes belonged to the driver’s wife.

Lalo Moreno was woken by his daughter-in-law to be told that his truck had been involved in the collision. The collision left the pickup truck turned on its side in a neighbor’s yard.

The name of the driver has not been released.

The DUI process in California is a complex one. Not only are the police and prosecutors involved, but the DMV is also involved. From the time a person is arrested for DUI in California, they have 10 days to request a hearing with the DMV to keep their license from being suspended. The DMV hearing will not take place for a while, sometimes not until after the criminal case.

If a person wins their criminal case, they may not even have to attend the hearing. However, if the hearing is prior to your DUI court date, an experienced DUI lawyer can handle the hearing for you.
