Santa Rosa Man Arrested After DUI Hit and Run

KRON San Francisco reports that a Santa Rosa man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI and a hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian on Sunday night.

Authorities say that the crash happened near the intersection of Railroad Street and Third Street. Police were made aware of the incident when a pedestrian, who was the victim of the collision, flagged down Santa Rosa Police officers.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with significant injuries. Police say, however, that she is expected to recover from the incident fully.

Police searched for the suspect vehicle and found it in a parking lot near Fifth Street and Wilson Street. The Santa Rosa Police Department said that the suspect driver showed signs of intoxication when approached by officers.

The suspect driver has been identified as 34-year-old Alfredo Gonzalez-Gutierrez. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on the felony charges of DUI causing injury and hit-and-run with injury.

Officials have not said whether Gonzalez-Gutierrez suffered any injuries in the crash.

A judge has set Gozales-Gutirrez’s bond at $200,000.

The crash is still currently under investigation.
