One Person Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in Fresno

Anytime anyone gets behind the wheel after consuming alcohol, they risk not only their lives but the lives of other drivers, pedestrians, and even those who have the misfortune of being in the same vehicle with them. 

KFSN Fresno reports that a suspected DUI driver is in custody after a crash in west-central Fresno injured a passenger in the vehicle.

According to a press release, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies spotted the driver. They attempted to pull them over near the intersection of Parkway Drive and Denton Avenue, but the driver refused to stop.

After a short pursuit of the suspect, the driver crashed their car into a parked vehicle. 

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. There were two passengers in the car with the driver. One of the passengers was injured and required medical attention. 

Paramedics took the passenger to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. 

So far, authorities have not released the identity of the suspect driver or the current condition of the injured passenger.
