DUI Motorist Crashes Through Orange County Smoke Shop

KTLA reports that an alleged DUI motorist crashed into and through an Orange County smoke shop early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say that the incident happened on Wednesday, December 13, at approximately 3:30 a.m. at the Cobra Smoke Shop located in the 500 block of Euclid in Fullerton.

Surveillance camera footage shows a woman in a white Mercedes sedan briefly stopping in front of the establishment before stepping on the gas and plowing through the storefront. She continued driving through the entire length of the business and out of the back of the building while an employee behind the counter looked on.

The driver then crashed into a fence and a tree where her vehicle came to rest. Police responding to the crash determined that the 22-year-old Santa Ana woman was intoxicated, and she was arrested on suspicion of DUI. So far, Orange County authorities have not yet released her identity.

The owner of the business was also in the building, just a short distance away from the car’s path. Thankfully, no one, including the driver, was hurt in the incident.

Cobra Smoke Shop remained closed just long enough to clear debris from the store and clean up the mess, but it was open for business a short time later.

Officials have yet to determine the amount of damage caused to the store.
