DUI Motorist Arrested Following A Crash Killing Two Passengers

MyNewsLA reports a driver suspected of being under the influence has been arrested after a crash in Mission Hills that killed two people.

On Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department released a statement about the crash that happened on Sunday, January 15, at approximately 11:40 p.m. in the 10100 block of Woodman Avenue.

Los Angeles Police Officer Lizeth Lomeli told reporters that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Woodman Avenue when it crossed over the center lane and into the southbound lanes before crashing into a parked car.

Police and first responders rushed to the scene of the crash. 

A man in his 20s who was a passenger in the back seat died at the crash scene. Paramedics rushed a woman in her 20s who was riding in the front passenger seat to an area hospital for treatment. Despite all life-saving measures taken by doctors and hospital staff, the woman died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash.

LAPD officers responding to the scene arrested the unidentified driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Authorities have not yet revealed the name of the suspect.
