DUI Leads To Fresno Crash

ABC Channel 30 News reported recently that a Fresno man, 35 years of age, was arrested on Thursday, April 29. 2021 in connection with an allegedly DUI-caused high-speed police chase in Fresno that only ended when the driver careened into a residence.

According to officials from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began between 1:55 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the intersection of Wishon and Santa Ana, where the Fresno driver had allegedly run several stop signs. The driver led police on a chase at high speed westbound on Shaw Avenue to Palm Avenue, where he continued southbound. He then crossed the train tracks at Palm and Garland, after which he lost control of his vehicle. He careened off the road, through a fence, a backyard, over a swimming pool, and through the wall of a garage attached to a residence, where it came to rest.

The Fresno man, who exceeded 100 mph during the pursuit, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries before being arrested on charges that included evading law enforcement, felony DUI and outstanding warrants for 2017 DUI charges. His passenger was also treated for minor injuries. No one in the home was hurt, thankfully.
