The San Luis Obispo Tribune reports that a man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing his vehicle into several parked cars in a residential neighborhood in South San Luis Obispo Tuesday night.
Grove Beach Police Department Commander Bryan Millard told reporters that at approximately 7:57 p.m., dispatchers received a call following a collision near the intersection of 200 block of North 16th Street and Newport Avenue.
Commander Millard said that police officers responding to the scene found the driver’s vehicle had collided with two parked and unoccupied cars. The suspect vehicle was in flames and smoking badly. Five City Fire Authority firefighters and paramedics also responded to the scene.
The driver, San Luis Obispo resident 27-year-old Tristan William Bedoya, sustained minor injuries in the collision. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation determined that Bedoya had been traveling southbound when he hit the two parked vehicles. Field testing determined that Bedoya had been under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time. He was arrested at the scene.
No further information was available at the time of the report.
