Authorities Suspect DUI in Deadly Winnetka Crash

It doesn’t matter if someone gets behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs; if they get into a crash, it is still considered Driving Under the Influence or DUI. If someone is hurt or worse, the situation can become much more severe with additional, more serious charges added.

ABC 7 in Los Angeles reports that one person has died and six others were injured in a three-vehicle crash that happened at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, near the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Corbin Avenue in the Winnetka area of Northridge.

LAPD police officers and firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene involving two cars and an SUV.

The force of impact overturned the SUV onto its roof. One person was declared dead at the scene, while six others were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives believe that alcohol, drugs, or both played a role in the fatal crash.

No further information about the victim or the others who were injured was released at the time of the report.

Law enforcement officials have not released the name of the suspect. Currently, the crash remains under investigation.
