Acton Hit-and-Run Leads to DUI Arrest

It is an unfortunate reality that many times, drunk driving leads to an accident. When these accidents occur, they can come with injuries and at times, cost lives. When this happens, a driver can face more serious problems than a simple DUI charge.

An accident in Acton left a motorcyclist dead and another driver facing charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

It incident happened in the early evening hours of Sunday, May 8, on Soledad Canyon Road in the proximity of Aliso Canyon Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Though the reasons are unknown at this time, the CHP reported that the driver of the Harley Davidson was traveling westbound. The motorcyclist then crossed over into the eastbound lane, directly into the oncoming path of a GMC Sierra. A head-on collision resulted and the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike.

The motorcyclist, age 66, died instantly. His name has yet to be released.

Investigators responding to the crash reported that the driver attempted to leave the scene. However, a half a mile away, the vehicle broke down.

The suspect, Bradly Russell Mcleod, 56, was arrested. He faces charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
