WWE Facing String Of DUI Arrests

It seems that the athletes of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) have been plagued as of late with legal problems. Some of these troubles have led towards the company severing ties with the athletic talent. First, there was Rich Swann, who was arrested on several charges including domestic violence in December. Jey Uso, the twin brother of Jimmy Uso, came next with a DUI charge. Next came trouble with Enzo Amore as a woman leveled accusations of rape against the wrestler. WWE has released both Swann and Amore. Now, Jeff Hardy, one half of the tag team that also includes his brother Matt, has found himself facing a DUI charge after an accident as the Charlotte Observer reports.

On the evening of Saturday, March 10, Jeff Hardy was behind the wheel of a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan when it hit a guardrail and spun back into the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which took place in Concord, North Carolina.

Hardy took a breathalyzer test and blew a .25 more than three times the legal limit.

This is not the first time that Hardy has been in trouble with the law in North Carolina. He spent time in jail stemming from a 2009 arrest regarding prescription pills and cocaine. Police raided his North Carolina home and found 262 Vicodin pills, 180 Soma pills, residual cocaine powder and about half a liter of an unspecified anabolic steroid.

Hardy once made up half of the tag team the Hardy Boyz with his brother Matt Hardy. He has been out of action since a September injury. He was cleared by his surgeon and was planning on returning to work.

Hardy’s court date is set for April 16, which is 8 days after WWE’s annual pinnacle event Wrestlemania.
