West Hollywood Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Injured

A late-night car accident is responsible for the death of one woman and injuring three passengers in the vehicle.

The accident was reported late Thursday night, around 11:54 p.m. The location of the accident was at the intersection of Fountain and Stanley Avenues in West Hollywood.

22-year-old Nicole Teresa Alas of Montebello was pronounced dead at the scene at midnight.

Alas had been traveling in a 2004 two-door Infiniti. The vehicle was headed westbound on Fountain Avenue at high speeds. The car then clipped a parked BMW, which resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle. The Infiniti continued to hit a concrete light pole and a fence before overturning.

Inside the vehicle were four occupants. One was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three, who were unnamed, were taken to the hospital to be treated.

Fountain Avenue between Spaulding and Curson Avenues was closed so that authorities could investigate the crash.

It is suspected that a DUI may be involved in the crash. However, the West Hollywood station has to wait for the results of toxicology tests.
