Two Arrested For DUI In Santa Monica

The Santa Monica Patch reported recently that Santa Monica Police arrested two people in the Montana area of Santa Monica, CA on the morning of Saturday, May 8, 2021 for charges including suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants (DUI) and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.

According to a news release issued by officials with the Santa Monica Police Department, the incident took place between 2:55 a.m. and 3:05 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, May 8, 2021 along the 900 block of Georgia Avenue near 9th Street in Santa Monica, California. Neighbors reported prowling and suspicious behavior in the area, and responding officers arrived to find a vehicle leaving the area at high speed.

“The vehicle failed to obey several traffic signs and continued to be reckless until officers stopped it a short distance away,” police said. “When officers made contact, the driver showed obvious signs of intoxication and inside the vehicle were open alcoholic beverages which led officers to conduct standardized field sobriety tests.”
