Tustin DUI Wreck Claims Motorist’s Life

My News LA reported recently that a driver alleged to be driving under the influence (DUI) was arrested after a deadly motor vehicle collision in the Tustin area on the morning of Sunday, April 18, 2021.

According to officials from the Irvine Police Department, as well as representatives of the Tustin Police Department, the incident took place between 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Sunday, April 18, 2021 along the 2800 block of Park Avenue in Tustin. A man 29 years of age was driving a vehicle that collided with a vehicle driven by a man from Orange 62 years of age. The Orange man sustained major injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The 29-year-old suspect then fled the scene just as Tustin Police units arrived to respond to the accident. A police pursuit was initiated, and the suspect was pursued up Jamboree Road before colliding with another vehicle north of Warner Avenue. Irvine Police responded to that scene and placed the individual under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, vehicular manslaughter, causing injury to his passenger while driving under the influence, vehicle theft, a parole violation and evading a police officer,
