Suspected DUI Driver Detained by Witnesses in Fatal NoHo Hit and Run

It was early in the morning, around 2am. Two vehicles were driving around the North Hollywood streets, near the intersection of Vantage and Vanowen. They crashed forcefully into one another, ABC7 reports.

This morning, a suspected DUI driver is in custody, and the other driver of the hit-and-run collision is dead.

Firefighters quickly received word and came to the aid of the accident victims. It was necessary to pry open one vehicle to extricate the driver from it. Unfortunately, the person who was extricated perished after being rushed to the hospital. The injuries were just too severe.

And, no wonder. “The force of the collision was so great that it forced both of the vehicles to continue traveling almost half a block,” said the Captain of LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.

The other driver at the scene supposedly tried to leave the scene on foot. He was detained by witnesses at the scene, who waited until the authories arrived. Once he was safely in custody, he was taken to a the hospital.
