Suspected DUI Crash In Perris Kills Motorist

My News LA reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident in Perris, California on the morning of Saturday, March 13, 2021 led to the death of a local motorist in an accident suspected to have been caused by driving under the influence (DUI). 

According to a news release issued by the California Highway Patrol as well as information from officials with the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, the incident took place between 5:45 a.m. and 5:55 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, March 13, 2021 along the 24300 block of CA State Route 74 just outside the town of Perris. A 2004 Honda Accord was traveling the wrong direction, headed east on the westbound portion of the highway, when it crashed head-on into a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder headed west in the proper travel lane. Both drivers attempted evasive maneuvers but were unable to avoid the collision, their right front ends impacting each other. 

The driver of the Accord, a Lake Elsinore man 26 years of age, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Pathfinder, a man from Lake Elsinore 52  was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.Intoxicated driving is believed to have played a role in the accident.
