Santa Ana DUI Wreck Kills One

My News LA reported recently that a woman was killed Saturday morning in Santa Ana in a motor vehicle accident caused by a driver believed to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

According to officials with the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 6, 2021 between 5:10 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) at the intersection of Third Street and Main Street in Santa Ana. A Chevrolet was traveling south on Main Street and collided with a Kia that had been traveling east on Third Street. One woman was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene. 

The other occupants of both vehicles were taken to local hospitals for the treatment of various wounds of varying levels of severity. The driver of the Chevy, a man from Corona, was taken into custody at the hospital on suspicion of charges including felony driving under the influence (DUI) and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He remained in police custody while under trauma care at the hospital. 

Police reports did not indicate to the press which car the victim was in when she was killed in the accident.
