Reality TV Star Ty Ruff Busted For Alleged DUI

TMZ reports that Ty Ruff, a celebrity due to competing in a wide variety of MTV reality shows, was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning.

According to law enforcement sources , Ty was pulled over around 2:30 am on Tuesday morning in a 2011 Mercedes-Benz after being observed going 20 mph over the posted speed limit for the area and swerving erratically across lanes. The reality star allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was reportedly over the legal blood-alcohol limit with a 0.12 BAC.

He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI and was released without bail on the same day.

The 33-year-old Baltimore native and reality star, who has spoken before about a rough childhood that could be compared to the HBO hit series ‘The Wire’, has been featured on MTV reality shows like The Real World: DC, which was the 23rd season of the venerable reality show in 2010, as well as Battle Of The Exes, four seasons of Cutthroat, The Challenge, and Rivals. His image and reputation on many of these reality shows was that of a temperamental, reckless individual who was behaviorally difficult when intoxicated, and was the motivation for a ‘house meeting’ during his time on The Real World.
