Ace Showbiz reported recently that Chico DeBarge, a famous R&B singer from the 80s, was recently arrested in Burbank on charges of driving under the influence and drug possession during a routine traffic stop on Wednesday, January 13.
According to officials from the Burbank Police Department, Chico DeBarge, a member of the 1980s R&B supergroup DeBarge made famous by singles such as ‘Rhythm of The Night’, was pulled over by police officers on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 for driving at night without his headlights on and failing to properly display license plates. He refused to give them proper identification, claiming to be his older brother James DeBarge. TMZ reported that a search of the singer produced methamphetamines and heroin, and he was admitted into custody.
He was charged with driving under the influence, drug possession, and false impersonation and spent nine days in jail before making bail. The troubled singer has a history of drug abuse and was also arrested in 2019.
This arrest came only a few months after the tragic death of Chico DeBarge’s son, who was found on a street in Los Angeles with multiple stab wounds. The musician, 54 years of age, has four other children.
