Radio Personality Big Boy Involved In Crash By Drunk Driver

While many people are aware that a DUI conviction can affect their driver’s license and result in jail time, fines, and other penalties, few may be aware that it can result in disciplinary measures for attorneys. Generally, an attorney being arrested for DUI will have their fingerprints taken. The California State Bar will be notified of the arrest and may contact the attorney. However, a first time DUI conviction may not necessarily result in any disciplinary measures, especially if the attorney has an otherwise clean criminal record. However, a DUI involving injuries or a fatality or an exceptionally high blood-alcohol content may warrant disciplinary action. NBC Los Angeles reports on a DUI accident involving a radio DJ and a Los Angeles prosecutor.

On Tuesday, August 21st, radio personality Big Boy was involved in an accident with an allegedly drunk driver. Big Boy recorded the aftermath of the accident in a video that quickly went viral.

In the video, it appears that the intoxicated driver remained behind the wheel of the car and continued drinking.

54-year-old Michael Kenneth Petterson was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

In an interview with TMZ, Big Boy, whose real name is Kurt Alexander, expressed shock when he learned that Petterson was a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

At the time of the incident, the office reported that Petterson was on leave. It also seems that Petterson was no longer eligible to practice law after failing to pay his Bar Association fees in 2017.

Petterson is still in custody and has two outstanding warrants out of Ventura County.
