Police Detective Arrested on Charged of DUI and Domestic Violence

It doesn’t matter who you are. No one is above the law, and anyone has the potential of being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. 

According to an article appearing on The Hanford Sentinel website on Thursday, July 1, 2021, that Police in Hanford have placed a Visalia Police detective under arrest on suspicion of DUI and on the charge of domestic violence.

A spokesperson for the Hanford Police Department said in a statement that Detective Samantha Adney was placed under arrest on Wednesday, June 30, at approximately 5:00 a.m. 

Adney was then taken to Kings County Jail, where she was booked at approximately 7:30 a.m. The booking record at the jail indicates that she was released two hours later.

King’s County Court records show that the domestic abuse charge against Detective Adney carries a $15,000 bond. She was instead released from jail on a citation, promising to appear in court to answer the charges against her at a later date. 

The Visalia Police Department released a statement saying that Detective Adney has been placed on administrative leave.

Detective Adney works with the Visalia Police Department’s Youth Services Unit and was named the department’s Officer of the Year in 2020.

No further formation about the case has been released at this time.
