Pedestrian Killed In Seal Beach DUI Accident

The Orange County Breeze reported that the Seal Beach Police arrested a driver for driving under the influence (DUI) after he allegedly struck a pedestrian along the Pacific Coast Highway last Sunday.

The incident occurred last Sunday just after midnight when the Seal Beach Police Department arrived at the 15900 block of the Pacific Coast Highway, near the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge and just north of Sunset Beach, in response to a traffic collision that had been reported. An adult male had been struck by a vehicle and was non-responsive; responding police officers attempted to provide lifesaving first aid, but the pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

A 30-year-old Long Beach woman drove a gray 2018 Ford Edge sport utility vehicle, which was allegedly the vehicle that struck the pedestrian. Investigators arrested the woman under suspicion of felony driving under the influence (DUI), and she was booked at the Orange County jail.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing and eyewitnesses or those with relevant information to the investigation are asked to contact Traffic Investigator Officer Ed Pastor of the Seal Beach Police Department at (562) 799-4100 extension 1661, or by email at [email protected].
