My News LA reported recently that a man from San Bernardino County faced an arraignment Friday for his alleged role in a drunken hit-and-run accident that took the life of a man in Pasadena last week.
The suspect, a Victorville man 20 years of age, has been charged with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one felony count of hit-and-run resulting in death or serious injury to another person, according to officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Marengo Avenue at around 9 p.m. on Friday, November 6. The victim, a Pasadena man 64 years of age, was pronounced dead at the scene according to officials from the Pasadena Police Department. The victim’s name has not been released yet, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department, due to the need to notify his next of kin.
The suspect was located and detained several hours after the incident in the Monrovia area by troopers from the California Highway Patrol. He was then taken into custody by the Pasadena Police Dept. later that morning and has remained in custody since that arrest, according to records from the jail.
