Los Angeles Police Chase Ends In DUI Arrest

Wednesday NBC Los Angeles Channel 4 News reported on a slow-speed police pursuit that led to the apprehension of a woman suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.

According to information from Channel 4’s news helicopter as well as from the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman believed to be intoxicated was behind the wheel of an SUV as it led police units on a slow-speed chase through residential areas of the San Fernando Valley. The incident took place Wednesday, October 7 around 10:10 p.m., and the pursuit passed through Van Nuys and Arieta, mostly along residential streets.

The suspect eventually drove into a cul-de-sac and pulled over, stopping the vehicle. She appeared to be attempting to climb into the backseat of the vehicle; Los Angeles Police Department officers quickly rushed her and took her into custody in Sun Valley without further incident.

LAPD and news outlets have not released further information about her identity, charges, bond, any damage or injuries, or other information related to the case. However, given the police chase and details of the incident, it is likely that she may face felony charges for the incident, which carry significant legal penalties even if, as seems apparent in this situation, there were no injuries or property damage.
