Fox 11 News Los Angeles reported recently that two of their employees are well on the road to recovery after a serious motor vehicle accident in March, caused by an allegedly intoxicated driver, that caused injuries to them as well as three other pedestrians.
According to local law enforcement officials, the incident took place between 3:10 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Friday, March 19, 2021 along West Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, just outside the El Capitan Theatre, during the El Capitan’s reopening celebration. A local motorist, suspected of DUI driving and with an alleged blood-alcohol content of 0.15% (twice the legal limit) plowed into five pedestrians outside the El Capitan, located along the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on the 6800 block of West Hollywood Boulevard.
Two FOX 11 employees were taken to a hospital with severe injuries along with three other pedestrians. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, although he claimed to have merely fallen asleep at the wheel of his vehicle.
One of the employees recently shared details of his journey to recovery after the tragic accident, which included four weeks in hospital beds at Cedars-Sinai Hospital and the California Rehabilitation Institute. Both FOX 11 employees, thankfully, are on the road to a full recovery.
