Hit-And-Run Strike Kills Pasadena Man

Pasadena Now reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident took place on the evening of Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Pasadena, California in which a man was struck by two vehicles along Washington Boulevard, leading to his death. 

According to news releases issued by the Pasadena Police Department and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroners, the incident took place between 6:35 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Thursday, February 11, 2021 along Washington Boulevard near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and North Hudson Avenue in Pasadena. A local man, 61 years of age, was walking outside his home in the Arbor Vista community when he was hit by two vehicles in the westbound lane of the roadway. The first driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities, and there were reportedly no signs of impairment on that driver. 

The driver of the second vehicle that struck the man, after he had hit the ground from the first impact, fled the scene. He was reportedly driving a white sedan. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. 

The location of the accident was only a block from the site of another pedestrian fatality on October 23, 2020 in which an allegedly drunken driver struck a pedestrian. That driver is currently awaiting trial for murder in connection with the charge, due to being a repeat DUI offender.
