The Patriot 1150 AM reported on a high-speed police chase involving a driver wanted for DUI and reckless driving that took place in Los Angeles County recently, involving a black Jaguar that was pursued through freeways before an arrest was made in Highland Park.
The chase began near the intersection of Slauson and Eastern Avenues in Commerce around 8:15 p.m. according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect, wanted for charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and reckless driving, led police past some construction cones and onto the Pomona Freeway (60) eastbound before executing a dangerous u-turn to exit the freeway.
The driver then proceeded along surface streets through South Pasadena, Pasadena, and Glendale, including the Americana at Brand and the Glendale Galleria areas. The suspect was reportedly averaging 90 mph or more through many areas, with a reported high speed of 130 mph.
The suspect was reportedly finally detained in the Highland Park area by the Los Angeles Police Department. Deputies were investigating whether the suspect was actually the one involved in the pursuit, according to representatives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Reports were not able to confirm, however, whether the suspect was charged with additional charges after the incident.
