Hemet Man Killed In DUI Wreck

My News LA reported recently that a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in Riverside County, just outside of Los Angeles, that led to the death of a man believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants on the afternoon of Saturday, February 27, 2021.

According to a news release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place between 3:15 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, February 27, 2021 along State Street, just south of South Village Loop, in the Hemet community of Riverside County, California. A motorist identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as a Hemet man, 58 years of age, was driving a Ford Mustang north along State Street when he suddenly veered into the southbound lanes and slammed head-on into an oncoming Ford F-150 pickup truck. 

The Ford F-150 pickup truck’s driver had to be cut free of the wreckage by responding firefighters and was hospitalized with serious injuries. However, he is expected to survive. The Mustang driver, who is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident, was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The incident remains under an active investigation.
