Goleta Wreck Hurts Two, One Arrested For DUI

ABC Channel 3 / Fox Channel 11 / CBS Channel 12 News reported recently that a motor vehicle accident along Calle Real in Goleta Thursday afternoon involving three vehicles shut down the roadway and led to the arrest of one of the drivers involved for driving under the influence (DUI.)

According to officials from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, and local paramedics, the accident occurred between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) near the intersection of Calle Real and N La Patera Lane. Arriving units to the accident scene found that three vehicles had been involved in a motor vehicle accident. One of them had flipped over and landed on its roof, and the driver had to be extricated by fire crews.

Two individuals involved in the accident sustained minor injuries, one of which was transported to a hospital for treatment. One of the drivers, a man from Oxnard 31 years of age, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

Calle Real was shut down in the area of the crash, but reopened once the scene was cleared. This incident is still under an active investigation.
