DUI Suspected In Simi Valley Accident

Channel 2 / KCAL Channel 9 CBS Los Angeles Local News reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident took place on the evening of Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Simi Valley, California in which a man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after crashing into a local residence. 

According to news releases issued by the Simi Valley Police Department, the incident took place between 835 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 along the 700 block of Ventura Avenue in Simi Valley. SVPD officers responding to an emergency call found a vehicle embedded partially inside a residence along Ventura Avenue after the driver, a man 25 years of age who was alone in the car, apparently careened off the roadway and crashed into the house. 

The preliminary investigation allegedly indicated that the man was driving a 2014 Chevy Camaro southbound on 5th Street, approaching Ventura Avenue, and failed to properly negotiate his turn. He jumped the curb and slammed into the home, which had four adult occupants, some of which were outside when the crash occurred. None of the home’s residents were injured. 

The driver was treated for his injuries and then booked into the Ventura County jail.
