DUI Driver Crashes Into Nightclub Crowd

The Whiskey A Go Go, located in Los Angeles, is a world-famous club that has been open since 1964. Not only noted for their long history as a club in Los Angeles, it has also served as the launching point for many world-famous musical acts. These acts include such “classic rock” acts as the Doors, Janis Joplin, Led Zepplin, to even more contemporary acts like No Doubt, Guns n Roses, System of a Down, Linkin’ Park, and Motley Crue. The venue was even inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Unfortunately, the world-famous venue was the site of near-tragedy, as a suspected DUI driver slammed into the crowd outside the nightclub, as The Epoch Times reports.

Witnesses described seeing the at-fault vehicle speeding down San Vicente Boulevard, likening the incident to a scene from one of the “Death Race” movies.

The vehicle slammed into a pole outside the Sunset Strip. Video captured the crowd attempting to jump out of the way of the speeding vehicle.

There were people in the crowd who were hospitalized, but their injuries were minor.

The driver, who has not been identified, had a Lyft sticker on his car. The company reports that while the driver was not actively driving for them at the time of the accident, they have removed the driver from the platform.

Lyft also indicated that they will cooperate with the investigation.
