DUI Driver Crashes Into Home In Simi Valley

CBS Los Angeles reports Simi Valley Police received a call to a home within the 3300 block of Bryan Avenue on Monday, June 7th at approximately 6:00 p.m. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that a vehicle had crashed into the front of the residence. 

Simi Valley Police officers responding to the scene told reporters that the resident was inside of the home at the time of the crash when a Ford SUV came crashing through the front of the house. Two people inside suffered only minor injuries when the car went through the wall and tossed them into another portion of the home. 

Both residents were transported via ambulance to an area hospital to be checked out. No other injuries were reported at the time of the crash.

Police officers at the scene administered a Breathalyzer test to the 62-year-old female driver of the vehicle. Police said that the woman had a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08% at the time of the crash.

She was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. Police say that the driver is currently facing the felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing bodily injury.
