DUI Attorney Charged With DUI

An attorney who specializes in defending DUI charges often knows the best defenses. After all, they’re in the business of proving their clients are innocent. They also know the tactics as well as the things that police look for when they suspect someone of being under the influence. Being as they know the penalties a person faces for conviction, you might think that DUI attorneys would be the last people charged with the offense. However, one DUI attorney going on trial for a DUI crash has two previous offenses, as Bakersfield.com reports.

62-year-old Henry Noto is an attorney specializing in defending clients against DUI offenses. He also had 2 prior DUI convictions before being charged with a third DUI.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Noto failed to stop at a stop sign on August 18th. He hit the vehicle which 26-year-old David Perez was driving. The impact pushed Perez’s vehicle into opposing lanes, where it was struck by a third vehicle.

Perez suffered from serious injuries, which included having to have 30 staples placed in his head. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation therapy at a local center.

A passenger in Noto’s vehicle, 31-year-old Heather Rush was also injured in the accident. Both she and Noto were taken to the hospital.

According to police records, Noto’s blood-alcohol content was .16%, twice the legal limit. He is charged with two felony counts related to DUI.

On Monday, Noto waived his preliminary hearing and opted to stand trial for the accident.
