Drake Bell Pleads Not Guilty to New DUI

Celebrities may seem to have it easier in some respects.  After all, they generally have more money than the common folk to pay for things when they get into trouble.  However, unlike the common folk, if a celebrity gets into trouble, it almost always makes the news.

Drake Bell, formerly of Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh, pleaded not guilty to one count of driving under the influence in Glendale within 10 years of committing the same offense.

Bell, who is 30, has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous classes, had been arrested back on December 21st after police spotted him driving recklessly and coming to an abrupt stop at a stoplight.

At the time of the stop, the arresting officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car and Bell reportedly failed a field sobriety test.

Bell then refused other sobriety tests such as a breathalyzer or a blood test.  Because he refused these additional tests, he could face additional punishment if convicted.

In May of 2010, Bell was convicted of DUI relating to an incident that had taken place six months previous.  If Bell is convicted of this current offense, he faces up to a year in jail.

Bell is both an actor and a musician.  He is best known for his role as Drake in the Nickelodeon show “Drake and Josh” which followed two opposite teens who became step-siblings.
