Child Dies in Alleged DUI Crash

A tragic accident in Hesperia, California ended with the death of a 2-year old girl. The driver of the vehicle, her father, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment.

The accident occurred on Saturday, April 2nd at about 11:15 am. The incident happened in the 7500 block of Arrowhead Lake Road.

Authorities report that the father, who was not named, was driving a white four-door Nissan Maxima southbound. He changed lanes to pass a slower moving vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle and the sedan flipped. The two-year-old was ejected from the car.

Also, in the vehicle were the driver’s three other children. Their ages were 8 years, 5 years, and 6 months old. The two-year-old was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Despite attempts to save her life, the girl died of her injuries in the accident.

The other children suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The driver was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto.
