Alleged DUI Driver Charged with Murder in Crash

Fleeing from the California Highway Patrol is never a smart idea. According to the Hanford Sentinel, an alleged DUI driver has been charged with murder and several other things for running from a crash.

It was reported by witnesses that there was a man driving erratically on the roads.  The California Highway Patrol started following this driver, eager to catch up with him and prevent him from causing any danger to himself or to the other people on the roads. The driver decided not to pull over, leading the police on a 40-mile chase, pulling off an exit ramp and slamming into another vehicle, a Camry.

The Camry’s driver died of his injuries. The alleged drunk driver fled the scene, then was detained while hiding from the authorities. He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges leveled against him and is currently being held without bail.
