AEW Star Arrested for DUI with .294 BAC

TMZ reports that former WWE and current AEW wrestling star Jeff Hardy, 44. was arrested in Florida early Monday morning on the charge of DUI.

According to documents filed by the Florida Highway Patrol, Hardy was driving a white Dodge Charger erratically on highways in Volusia County when highway patrol officers spotted him.

Dispatchers for the law enforcement agency received four separate calls reporting the vehicle’s “poor driving pattern.” Officers caught up to the Charger and found Hardy driving under the speed limit, weaving across lanes, and occasionally onto the shoulder.

When the officers managed to pull Hardy over,  he “appeared to be in a stupor and confused.”

Officers at the scene noted a strong scent of alcohol on Hardy’s breath and body. A series of field sobriety tests indicated that Hardy displayed several signs of alcohol impairment.

Hardy was arrested and taken into custody. At the station, a Breathalyzer test showed that Hardy had a blood-alcohol content of .294 percent – more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

Court records indicate that Hardy has had two prior DUI convictions in 2018 and 2019 in North Carolina. Because of the prior convictions, Hardy’s license had been suspended. A further restriction required Hardy to have an interlocking device in his vehicle. The Dodge Charger did not have the device installed.

Hardy was later transferred to the Volusia County Jail.

Owners for All Elite Wrestling issued a statement via Twitter stating that Hardy had been indefinitely suspended from the organization without pay.

This is a developing story.
