Actor David Koechner Arrested for DUI Hit-and-Run

News Nation USA reported on Monday that comedic actor David Koechner, best known for his roles on TV’s ‘The Office’ and ‘The Goldbergs’ series as well as the film ‘Anchorman,’ was arrested on New Year’s Eve in Simi Valley. Koechner is facing the charge of suspicion of DUI hit-and-run.

A spokesperson for Simi Valley authorities said in a statement that 59-year-old Koechner was arrested just after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021.

Simi Valley Police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a driver who hit a stop sign in a residential neighborhood and struck a median with their SUV. The driver then dove away, fleeing the scene. Eyewitnesses told police that the driver had been driving erratically before hitting the stop sign.

Koechner was spotted by officers a short distance away and pulled over. After being given a series of field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer test, police determined that Koechner’s blood alcohol level was one and half times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Officers booked Koechner in the Ventura County Jail. He was released on bail the following morning, early New Year’s Day.

Court documents indicate that Koechner has no prior arrests before the New Year’s Eve incident.

Koechner is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court to face the charges on March 30, 2022.
